KENCHY IS THE CLEAR CHOICE
Kenchy is a devoted husband and father, a caring and loyal friend and a leader who advocates for all children, not just his own son.
When we met, he was president of the Scarlet Foundation which provided enrichment, fulfilled classroom wish lists and made improvements to our school’s campus. He was the person to talk to if you wanted to get involved.
Together, we also founded a parent advocacy group called Kids Not Politics that now comprises nearly 2500 Californians who believe that parents know best what is right for their children’s education and encourages them to advocate for educational choice and support for all public schools, with their state legislators.
Kenchy is bright, curious and tenacious. His boundless energy and warrior spirit make him someone I’m glad to know and who I’d want by my side in any fight.

KENCHY WILL DRIVE OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO THRIVE
I met Kenchy on a volunteer parent organization. As the leader of the parent group, Kenchy helped us get a lot of things done that benefited the students and the overall school community.
Kenchy is driven by the principle that public schools exist to help young people develop intellectually and socially. I credit much of our success to Kenchy’s ability to create trust among different people and interests. He actively sought numerous views on various opportunities and challenges we faced. And, he always identified and pursued common ground.
I’m excited by his candidacy because I think his positivity and creativity will drive our public schools to thrive.

KENCHY DOES NOT QUIT
I met Kenchy almost 5 years ago when our children started kindergarten together. Kenchy cares about education for children not just for now but for the long run. Kenchy doesn’t stand around and wait - he jumps in. Kenchy is a fighter! He went nose to nose with LAUSD. He does not quit. He’s relentless and that’s what a true leader is.

Kenchy understands the need for new ideas in education
I am a parent of a child with learning differences. He is a brilliant and creative kid who has severe dyslexia. Regular school was not only very stressful, but his anxiety made him easy fodder for bullying. He could not learn in that environment and it felt like our options were truly limited.
Kenchy's son also attends our school, and from the start, he poured his heart and soul and ideas (and a crazy amount of time) into the school to preserve and expand this opportunity for all of our kids. Kenchy truly sees the potential of new ideas in education and that vision will help the children of Los Angeles achieve their full potential. To have him serve on the LAUSD Board will be vital!
